Export Overview
From January to July 2024, China exported a total of 151,500 tons of canned oranges, with a total value of $180 million and an average price of $1,190 per ton. Compared to the same period last year, the quantity increased by 7%, the total value decreased by 9%, and the average price fell by 15%.
In July 2024 alone, China exported 21,700 tons of canned oranges, worth $25.36 million, with an average price of $1,170 per ton. Compared to the same month last year, the quantity increased by 23%, the total value rose by 5%, and the average price decreased by 14%.
Export Destinations
From January to July 2024, among the 55 countries and regions that imported Chinese canned oranges, the top eight destinations by export value were: the United States, Japan, Indonesia, Canada, Germany, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and Iran.
- To the United States, China exported 71,200 tons of canned oranges, accounting for 47% of the total export volume, with a value of $89.48 million and an average price of $1,257 per ton. Compared to the same period last year, the quantity decreased by 2%, the total value fell by 17%, and the average price dropped by 16%.
- To Japan, China exported 34,500 tons of canned oranges, making up 23% of the total export volume, with a value of $41.20 million and an average price of $1,196 per ton. Compared to the same period last year, the quantity increased by 4%, the total value decreased by 10%, and the average price fell by 14%.
- To Indonesia, China exported 15,100 tons of canned oranges, which accounted for 10% of the total export volume, with a value of $13.99 million and an average price of $925 per ton. Compared to the same period last year, the quantity increased by 194%, the total value rose by 154%, and the average price decreased by 14%.
- To Canada, China exported 5,506 tons of canned oranges, representing 4% of the total export volume, with a value of $7.61 million and an average price of $1,383 per ton. Compared to the same period last year, the quantity increased by 8%, the total value decreased by 4%, and the average price fell by 11%.
Exporting Provinces
From January to July 2024, among the 20 provinces and municipalities that exported canned oranges, the top six in terms of export value were: Zhejiang, Hubei, Shandong, Anhui, Hunan, and Jiangsu.
- Zhejiang Province exported 94,700 tons of canned oranges, accounting for 62% of the total export volume, with a value of $116 million and an average price of $1,225 per ton. Compared to the same period last year, the quantity increased by 5%, the total value decreased by 10%, and the average price fell by 15%.
- Hubei Province exported 25,600 tons, making up 17% of the total export volume, with a value of $24.92 million and an average price of $973 per ton. Compared to the same period last year, the quantity increased by 15%, the total value decreased by 2%, and the average price dropped by 15%.
- Shandong Province exported 12,800 tons, representing 8% of the total export volume, with a value of $15.37 million and an average price of $1,202 per ton. Compared to the same period last year, the quantity increased by 63%, the total value rose by 39%, and the average price decreased by 15%.
